TENTH PLAN PROPOSAL FOR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN NORTH EAST
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved an outlay of Rs.283.18 crore in the X Five Year Plan for creation and maintenance of necessary infrastructure facilities in educational establishments in the north-eastern region. These are the College of Agriculture, Imphal, Manipur; the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Aizawl, Mizoram; the College of Fisheries, Agartala, Tripura; the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh; as also the Central Agricultural University headquarters at Imphal. The proposal would also provide for establishment of three new colleges, i.e. College of Home Science, Tura, Meghalaya; College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Sikkim; and College of Post Graduate Studies, Barapani, Meghalaya.
